{"id":922,"date":"2025-09-18T14:40:12","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T12:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/frameina.com\/discover-frame\/"},"modified":"2025-10-01T10:26:09","modified_gmt":"2025-10-01T08:26:09","slug":"discover-frame","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/frameina.com\/en\/discover-frame\/","title":{"rendered":"Discover Frame"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>What is FRAME?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>Since 2010, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ina.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">INA<\/a> organised the annual training programme FRAME in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/fiatifta.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FIAT\/IFTA<\/a> (International Federation of Television Archives) and <a href=\"https:\/\/academy.ebu.ch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EBU Academy <\/a>(European Broadcasting Union). FRAME is a co-funded by the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/culture.ec.europa.eu\/fr\/creative-europe\/creative-europe-media-strand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Creative Europe \u2013 MEDIA programme<\/a>\n<\/strong> of the European Union. <\/p>\n\n<p>It is intended for European and international professionals in the audiovisual archiving sector. Its goals are to:  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthen skills in the management, preservation, and promotion of audiovisual archives. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Foster exchanges between professionals from around the world. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Encourage innovation in archiving practices. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In a comprehensive perspective, the FRAME training programme covers<strong> each step of the audiovisual archives management process<\/strong> &#8211; from its preservation, digitisation, documentation, to its access, reuse and promotion \u2013 and all aspects of this work \u2013 <strong>legal<\/strong>, <strong>ecological<\/strong>, <strong>technical<\/strong>, <strong>technological<\/strong>, <strong>business<\/strong>, <strong>educative<\/strong>, or <strong>creative<\/strong> aspects the audiovisual heritage. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Target groups<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>FRAME\u2019s target groups are all European and international professionals working for the <strong>preservation<\/strong>, <strong>management<\/strong>, <strong>access<\/strong>, and<strong> reuse of <\/strong><strong>audiovisual archives<\/strong>, in all audiovisual heritage fields. <\/p>\n\n<p>With the aim to correspond to each of them needs and objectives, <strong>whatever their background, profile and level of expertise<\/strong>, the FRAME training programme is made of several adapted actions.\u202f\u202f <br\/> <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Training programme<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>FRAME is made of <strong>5 training actions<\/strong>: <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>1. FRAME Basics<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>An online 6-half-day training session, organised during the spring, delivers <strong>fundamental knowledge<\/strong> and <strong>skills necessary<\/strong> for professionals managing audiovisual content, from its <strong>preservation<\/strong> to its <strong>reuse<\/strong>. FRAME Basics is addressed in priority to professionals with less experience and\/or needs to acquire fundamentals.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>2. FRAME Advanced<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>An onsite <strong>5-day training session,<\/strong> organised during the autumn at INA or in a European partner institution, is focused on the <strong>latest and innovative practices<\/strong> of the audiovisual heritage sector.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>FRAME Advanced Tec<\/strong>h deals with <strong>technical and technological<\/strong> aspects of the preservation and management of audiovisual archives <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>FRAME Advanced Access<\/strong> deals with <strong>documentation<\/strong> and <strong>access<\/strong> topics <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>FRAME Advanced<\/strong> is <strong>open to all professionals<\/strong>, and in priority to <strong>experienced and trained ones. <\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>3. FRAME Mentoring<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>A 6-month mentoring programme (June-December) addressed to <strong>young professionals<\/strong> to support them in their <strong>career path<\/strong> development or to implement their <strong>project.<\/strong> FRAME Mentoring includes <\/p>\n\n<p>FRAME Mentoring includes: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>an <strong>online support<\/strong> by a dedicated mentor who is a recognized international expert; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a <strong>2-week professional immersion<\/strong> at INA or in a partner institution; <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>an <strong>accreditation to FIAT\/IFTA Annual World Conference.<\/strong> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>FRAME digital training platform<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Made of multilingual<\/strong> (French, English, Spanish) e-learning modules and digital pedagogical material and resources (video, bibliography, etc.). <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>5. FRAME Expert<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>A half-day <strong>workshop<\/strong> organised as part of the<strong> FIAT\/IFTA World Conference<\/strong>, in October; gathering the community of international professionals around <strong>shared questions<\/strong> and <strong>current issues<\/strong> of the audiovisual heritage sector.  <\/p>\n\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/pages\/responsepage.aspx?id=rBNBiJye3UCym-3-d-eWVhWyQDHk_oVKuDbOLe48oxhUOTZBSUtaWDBTNjc4ME5RWlYwWVhBTVBEWC4u&amp;route=shorturl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">placement questionnaire<\/a> is available to help participants identify which FRAME session best suits their needs. <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>courses and workshop<\/strong> are delivered <strong>in English<\/strong> by recognized European and international audiovisual archives <strong>experts<\/strong>. Each year, the training programme is <strong>updated<\/strong> to match with current <strong>technical and technological evolutions<\/strong> in the sector and to correspond to <strong>professionals\u2019 expectations and needs<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The <strong>FRAME committee<\/strong>, composed of members from INA, program partners (FIAT\/IFTA, EBU Academy), as well as organizations and associated professionals who have been long-standing FRAME partners (meemoo, Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid, RTVE, Rai, RTS, etc.), meets annually to review and update the training content. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Objectives<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p>FRAME objectives are to: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Develop and strengthen<\/strong> the community of European and international professionals working in the audiovisual archive fields <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Update and develop<\/strong> the professionals\u2019 competencies and knowledge all along their career <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Present and promote<\/strong> inspiring projects, examples and best practices <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Give an overview<\/strong> of latest practices and evolutions of the sector <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Build a common language<\/strong> and shared professional practices <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>To participate<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The registration to <strong>FRAME Basics<\/strong>, <strong>FRAME Advanced<\/strong> and <strong>FRAME Mentoring<\/strong> is made through <strong>calls for applications<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The attendance to the <strong>FRAME Expert workshop<\/strong> is <strong>open to all FIAT\/IFTA annual World Conference participants<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The registration to<strong> FRAME digital training platform<\/strong> is <strong>accessible to everyone<\/strong>. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><strong>For more information<\/strong> and to be informed about the calls for applications: <a href=\"mailto:frame@ina.fr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">frame@ina.fr <\/a> <\/p>\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is FRAME?
